Spiritual Journey: After life breaks your heart

Don’t try to go back

to who you were

before this horrible thing

happened to you.

You have to learn to be shattered

and move forward

at the same time.

You have to allow the Light

to be the glue

that holds

the broken pieces of your heart

together.

You have to realize you’re bigger now,

more radiant,

more full of God,

more capable

of shining in this dark world.

At some point, something in life breaks our heart. It’s inevitable!

The question is: will we expand in faith or shrink into despair? Will we invite Christ into our struggles through prayer or not?

Romans 8: 16-19 “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed”

What struggles in life have cracked your heart wide open? How have you been able to shine Christ’s light in the world in a way that you couldn’t have if you hadn’t suffered so terribly? How has the Glory of God been revealed through your heartache? Comment below, and I’ll be delighted to keep you in my prayers.

Lord help us seek You and grow closer to You through the trials of our lives. Help us to open up and expand to make more room for Your grace and Your love in our hearts. Strengthen to persevere through our heartache, so we can shine more of Your light in the world and Glorify You with our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
