Refugee Outreach

Part of the long-term vision and mission of Unite in Prayer is to create a program of Faith in Action Refugee Outreach, which will include fundraising, advocacy and support for those, who are fleeing their homes, due to violence and persecution.

My focus on refugees is based on the growing number of them in our world (we’re up to 65.3 million right now), my wholehearted desire to serve Christ and His words in Matthew 25:35-40:

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

I’ve written a little bit about my experience working with refugees, who have resettled in the Quad Cities through World Relief here.

Here’s a Prayer you can say right now for Refugees around the world.

Would you like to start serving refugees right now?

I am in the beginning of planning stages for my service to refugees through Unite in Prayer, but you can find amazing volunteer and donation opportunities through the international organization World Relief at www.worldrelief.org.

Please pray for me to be guided by God on how to proceed in my own calling to serve refugees.

Thank you!
