Me Too Prayer (for courage to speak out against sexual assault)

Thank you God for the swell of voices, who have found the courage to speak out against sexual harrassment and assault. It’s awesome to see the truth coming to light and justice being served in some instances.

Today, I ask that You rise up even more brave warriors of truth to speak out against their abusers.

Reach deep into their hearts and remove any self blame and fear, which has been instilled by manipulation. Fill them with an inherent sense of their own worth, courage of conviction and the power to hold their abusers fully accountable for all acts of sexual harrassment and violence.

Embolden them with full realization of the positive impact they can make by sharing their stories and stopping their perpetrator in his tracks. Surround them with supportive loved ones to encourage them every step of the way through this painful process, and give them the strength to follow through and fully report all instances of abuse.

Bless their stories to be heard, believed and vindicated with justice in work places and through the full extent of the law. Protect them from backlash and persecution from their abuser. Uphold justice and place accountability exactly where it belongs: on the shoulders of the perpetrator.

Even though it’s hard to speak out, allow this courageous act to be part of the healing process of moving forward from trauma. Pour Your grace like a balm into their deepest wounds of these brave truth tellers, who are willing to sacrifice their privacy to do what’s right.

On behalf of these courageous acts, create an increasingly large tidal wave of truth, justice and accountability for those, who commit sexual crimes. Make the world a safer place, one act of justice at a time.

In Jesus name we pray,

Amen
