When we’re deeply rooted in God,
there’s nothing to do …
no motion,
no words.
In the silence,
we can stand tall and strong like oaks,
providing shelter for others.
Our loving presence is enough
to send oxygen
into the atmosphere.
When’s the last time someone was there just for you? With no agenda or needs of their own? Without trying to label, judge or fix your problems? Just strong and tall and completely emotionally and physically present for you?
It’s rare, isn’t it?
But that’s how God is – all the time.
The more deeply we are rooted in God through prayer, meditation and study, the more we can learn to become completely present for others as a channel of our Creators unconditional loving, healing power.
In our fast paced society, we sometimes value doing over being. Saint Jane Frances de Chantal affirmed the power of faith, when she said “Hold your eyes on God and leave the doing to him. That is all the doing you have to worry about.”
Do you spend time rooting yourself in God through prayer, meditation and study? Do you struggle to be fully present for others? Comment below, and I’ll be delighted to provide encouragement and keep you in my prayers.
God, give us the grace to allow Your presence to flow through us into the world. Strengthen us and work through us to help others feel Your loving, healing presence. Give us patience to wait for Your guidance, so all of our actions can be guided by Your love. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
