Unite in Prayer for the 70.8 million refugees on planet earth right now

Unless we have been forced to leave our country due to violence, persecution or natural disaster, we probably can’t imagine the struggles faced by refugees on their journey to start a new life. Through prayer, we can open our hearts to show empathy and solidarity with those, who have been so drastically impacted by circumstances beyond their control. With faith, we can bless God’s children on their darkest days.

Matthew 25:40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

Sometimes we choose to climb mountains.

We’re up for a challenge,

so we buy maps and boots and

join monasteries.

Other times, we’re forced to climb.

We’re kidnapped by heartache,

left in the wilderness-

alone with our prayers.

Sometimes when we’re asked to walk a high road,

it feels more like being left for dead.

But the truth is:

we’re surrounded by angels,

walking a holy road-

the only path to resurrection.

Just take one step at a time,

you’ll see.

Follow the glimmer of hope…

God bless all the people, who have been displaced from their homes, due to violence and natural disaster.

Place your protection around all refugees and their loved ones, like an impenetrable shield of love.

Guide them to the food, clothing, safety and shelter that they need to survive in the short run, and create a safe haven for them to thrive in the long run.

When fear of the future threatens to overcome them, fill them with a supernatural sense of Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

Be with them as they walk this dangerous road, Lord. Fill their hearts with hope and a certainty of the amazing future You have planned for them, in spite of their current hardships.

As they grieve the loss of their home and way of life, help them to realize they always have a sanctuary in Your heart. Help them experience your sanctuary as a living, breathing reality all around them.

Even while they’re suffering physically from deprivation, help them grow spiritually. Fill them with supernatural graces of patience, strength, persistence, wisdom, that they may be richly blessed with the gifts of Your Spirit during this time.

Heal them from all the suffering they’ve been through, and guard their hearts from the temptation to give up.

Give them an unshakable faith in You, Lord and a realization that You are the rock of security they need to stand strong through this hard time.

Fill their hearts with joy and a sense of having You with them through this.

Bless them with miraculous reminders of Your presence all around them on their journey, Lord.

Work behind the scenes on their behalf. Soften the hearts of leaders to create policies that accommodate these innocent people, who are fleeing from terror.  Inspire more communities to see refugees as the gifts they are, and motivate us to welcome displaced people with unprecedented generosity. Move all of our hearts to do our part to support these precious children of yours, who have been uprooted from their lives by circumstances beyond their control.

In Jesus name, we pray.

Amen.
