Prayer after the loss of a child

We don’t have to worry about this one anymore,

adorned as she is

with the stars …

cradled as she is

by the rings around the moon,

wrapped in radiant beams of perfect love –

held in Divine Mother’s arms

like a jewel.

She tiptoed into our hearts

and out again,

a light too bright for this world

yet still here …

draped over our souls like invisible pearls,

pure and rich

with the mystery of eternal life.

why?

we’ll never understand

who came for what and why?

who is holding who, really?

aren’t we supposed to do these things for our daughters?

who gives these great gifts that shatter our hearts

and open them at the same time?

What does our Creator do

with these glistening lives when they’re gone?

When will we feel her presence

and realize how close she’s always been?

How can we hold these achingly beautiful truths

in our hearts and keep taking

one step at a time?

Isaiah 53:4 “Surely He hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.”

Have you experienced the loss of a beloved child? How is faith helping you cope with your grieving process? Comment below, and I’ll be happy to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Lord, fill in the dark spaces of our grief with an outpouring of Your Light. Fill our hearts with an increase of faith, hope and love to cope with our sorrow. Help us to grow closer to You and realize the presence of our loved one, who is with us always in a spiritual way. In Jesus name, we pray Amen.
