Again, I resist the pressure to mold myself into the shape of a life I can see.
Again, I refuse to be controlled by the chaotic voices swirling around me.
Again, I choose to turn down the volume of this crazy world
and enter into the silence
beyond reason,
where I discover the sweet eternal stillness of God
and an infusion of grace so precious
I can’t even fathom what it’s doing in me.
Mercy abounds like a river in my soul,
and I don’t know where it’s leading me,
but I’ve experienced enough of this goodness to know
it’s the only path for me.
Again, I turn my back on the wisdom of this world
and choose to live for another –
more radiant, beautiful and true …
too expansive for me to realize.
Again, I find the courage to entrust myself
Into the loving hands of my Creator.
Again, I let go and allow myself to be shaped
into the answer.
Again and again,
I open into prayer like a flower,
and Divinity rains.
1 Corinthians 3: 18-19
Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 1For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.
Lord, give us the grace to ignore the fear-based, superficial thinking, which is so prevalent in our society today. Spark in us a genuine desire to spend time with You in prayer, allowing Your love to shape the content of our character even when that requires us to make some sacrifices in popular opinion. Give us the gift of pure faith, and help us to seek Your guidance above and beyond the wisdom of this world, so we can participate in Your great work of bringing heaven to earth in the unique way you have planned for us. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
