Spiritual Journey: When it’s time to let go of a burden and move on

I have affixed my sorrows

to Your heart

like ornaments,

like prayers.

I am choosing to trust

in Your strength,

Your glory,

Your ability

to bear these

burdens

into the Light

of resurrection.

James 4:10 “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
1 Peter 5:6-10 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”

Lord, You carried the weight of all of our sorrows and sins to the grave and rose from the dead, proving Your great love and power once and for all. You did it all for us and our well being, forgiving us and putting our needs ahead of your own. Teach us to trust in the power of Your resurrection. Give us the grace to let go of these burdens, which are weighing us down. Help us let go of our sorrows and place them into Your loving heart, where they will surely rise and glorify Your name. Increase our faith, hope and trust in You. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Where are you on your journey of letting go and trusting God with the burdens of your heart? Comment below and I’ll be delighted to keep you in my prayers.
