It’s not about about having a plan …
it’s about learning to keep your eyes
on the horizon,
being alert
enough to notice
the Divine Spark rising like the sun
over ordinary moments.
It’s about looking up to the heavens
and paying attention
to how the Light
shimmers down
and casts
a glorious glow
over the people you love …
It’s about having eyes to see
how God
transforms
the mundane
into the miraculous,
when we are able to trust.
It’s about letting go of maps
and allowing the Spirit
to move you
like wind
in your sails,
adjusting only
to the rhythm of the tides.
It’s about learning to navigate life
one priceless moment at a time
through storms when they come,
realizing your faith is enough
for the journey ahead,
doing your best
to relax and enjoy the ride.
John 3:8
The wind blows where it wishes. You hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.
Whether we’re aware of God’s presence in our life or not, He is present all around us in the beauty of nature and hearts of the loving people that surround us. He’s always calling to us, inviting us into a deeper state of relationship and ultimately union with His will and Spirit through Jesus. He’s not always calling us to the life we imagine! But that’s okay because ultimately, His plans for us are better than anything we can come up with on our own.
When we notice the Light of God and say yes to the interior promptings of the Holy Spirit, slowly but surely we are able to gain an interior sense of freedom like wind in our sails, which helps us grow in holiness and guides us on our journey through life. Every time we find the courage to step out on faith and trust God’s calling in our hearts, we can increase our faith and trust in our own ability to align ourselves with God’s will. Slowly but surely, we can let go of the need to control every aspect of our own lives and abandon ourselves to Divine Providence entirely. This of course, is a lifelong process and very difficult but worth the effort! It’s a gift to even perceive life as the Spiritual Journey that it is. It’s a grace to desire a deeper relationship with our Creator through prayer.
Do you ever struggle to let go of control and embrace God’s plan for your life? Are you able to discern promptings of the Holy Spirit? Do you ever struggle to say yes to interior callings from God? Comment below, and I’ll be delighted to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Lord give us the grace to hear and follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Help us discern Your will for our lives, and give us the courage to embrace it and follow You, wherever You lead us through sunshine and storms. In Jesus name, we pray.
