I want
to be rooted
ever more deeply
in love.
I want
to sink my toes
into the sands of Divinity
and walk on earth.
I want
to see for myself
the beauty that grows
out of pure faith.
Teach me
to give You
my whole heart,
Lord.
Show me
how to
trust in Your
invisible power.
Help me
grow strong
in Your majesty.
Jer 17:5-10:
Thus says the LORD:
Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings,
who seeks his strength in flesh,
whose heart turns away from the LORD.
He is like a barren bush in the desert
that enjoys no change of season,
But stands in a lava waste,
a salt and empty earth.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose hope is the LORD.
He is like a tree planted beside the waters
that stretches out its roots to the stream:
It fears not the heat when it comes,
its leaves stay green;
In the year of drought it shows no distress,
but still bears fruit.
More tortuous than all else is the human heart,
beyond remedy; who can understand it?
I, the LORD, alone probe the mind
and test the heart,
To reward everyone according to his ways,
according to the merit of his deeds.
Faith is hard. Do you ever struggle with the conflict between pleasing people and doing God’s will? Comment below, and I’ll be delighted to keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Lord reveal any areas of our hearts, which are rooted in the things of this world, rather than Your Divine and healing eternal love. Help us to trust in you enough to shift away from people pleasing into a profound, deep and lasting faith, which will bear fruit for eternity. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
