The more books I read and people I meet;
the older I get and wiser;
The more I learn and study and grow …
The more I commune with God in prayer
and consult with mentors,
who are further along the path toward God …
The longer I journey along that same road,
the more deeply I realize
how simple
The Truth really is.
I don’t need to move mountains
or perform marvelous deeds –
I don’t need to impress anyone
or be successful at anything.
I just need to
Love
with all of my heart,
and stay on the path Love carves for me.
I just need to
persist
unwavering
in my commitment
to walk with an open heart …
through canyons of forgiveness,
long stretches of desert loneliness,
swamps of heartache and
infinite lush jungles of joy.
Faith is a journey!
When our hearts are full of love, we know we’re on the right path.
When we’re cultivating the fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we know we’re on the right path. Galatians 5: 22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ”
When we’re willing to forgive and pray for those, who have hurt us, we know we’re on the right path.
When we’re willing to sacrifice for others, we know we’re on the right path.
When we’re willing to look like fools in the eyes of the world to follow a calling God places on our heart, we know we’re on the right path. 1 Corinthians 3:19 “Let no one deceive himself. If any of you thinks he is wise in this age, he should become a fool, so that he may become wise. 1For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. “
How do you knew when you’re straying off the path of Love? Comment below, and I’ll be delighted to keep you in my prayers.
Lord, help us to love like You do. Protect us from the temptation to wander off the path of love into fear or pride or soul-less distraction. Give us the grace to follow Your guidance, along the pathway of love You have created for us. Give us the eyes to see the miracles only You can create. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
