Simple Faith: Cultivate a daily prayer practice

He pours Light

like coffee

into our souls.

He awakens us

again and again

to what’s real.

All He needs is an invitation,

an open heart,

a prayer. 

2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

When we open our hearts in prayer, God infuses us with grace by the power of the Holy Spirit. Slowly but surely when we persist in spending time with the Lord, we are healed and awakened to the truth of who we are and who God is.

Prayer enriches our lives beyond any other way we could spend our time because it connects us to the loving heart of our Creator, which positively impacts every area of our lives and flows over into the lives of those around us. 

Once we’ve experienced the true power of prayer, we want others to experience the same thing. In Ephesians 3:16-20, we discover a beautiful prayer by an apostle, expressing his desire for others to know the love of God:

“I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” 

Where can we begin to know the love of God like he did? By spending time in prayer and meditation, reflecting on these powerful words that came straight from the heart of someone, who knew Christ well in his time. 

Slowly but surely the more we contemplate the power of God through prayer, the more we’ll experience His presence and be able to share His love with others.
